Good late afternoon on Friday, this is Burton with your last No Salt Ice report for Racine County beaches effective on February the 26th 2010. Winds are out of the WNW at 18 mph with gusts to 25 mph and the outside air temperature is at 32 degrees under mostly cloudy skies at Racine County beaches. The ice situation off of Racine County beaches has improved a lot which most spots are safe now to get in an out safely but keep in mind not all of the areas are open especially a few of the standout spots. If you do venture out for a surf please use caution and surf with somebody because there is some ice chunks still floating around from time to time. Today we will see increasing cloud going into this late afternoon and into this evening and winds will stay on the moderate side out of the NW for today. Today we will see a high around 32 degrees and then for tonight look for a low around 25 degrees with a good chance for some light to moderate snow showers with about a inch of snow expected. Tonight look for winds to stay on the strong to moderate side out of the NNW with mainly cloudy skies and the sun will set tonight at 5:37 p.m. The sunrise this morning was at 6:31 a.m and the water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan are at a chilly 36 degrees still. Well this is going to be my last ice report for our ice season and I will resume in doing my daily surf reports on March the 27th 2010. Keep it safe out there surfing on Lake Michigan and I will see you back here in the early spring. Here are a few more pictures from me and Wills snowboarding winter stoke from a few weeks back, keeping the stoke and getting through another winter out here in The Cold Mid West.
Good Monday, this is Burton with your ice update recorded at 12:28 p.m on February&nbsp; 22nd 2010 for Racine County beaches. Winds are out of the NNE at 9 mph with the outside air temperature at 31 degrees under very cloudy skies with some areas of light snow. Well some big improvements as far as the ice shelf and the ice goes off Racine County&nbsp; beaches as you can see in the picture that was taken today. I am still going to say for safety reasons that surfing off all Racine County beaches is still dangerous and is not advised until all of the ice is gone at all Racine County beaches. Today we will see our outside air temperatures only push up into the low 30's at Racine beaches and winds will be on the moderate side out of the NNE with mainly cloudy skies. Also for today we will see still a chance for some light snow showers of some light flurries and the sunrise was at 6:38 a.m this morning. Tonight we will still see a slight chance for some leftover light snow showers or flurries with our night time low air temperatures pushing down in the mid 20's. Winds for tonight will be on the light side out of the NNW and skies will stay on the cloudy side. The sun will set this evening at Racine County beaches at 5:32 p.m and the water surface temperatures off of Racine beaches on Lake Michigan are still holding at a chilly 36 degrees. Well finally we can see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as the ice shelf and the ice off of Racine County beaches and things should be back to normal in less then a month hopefully. Have a great rest of the work week and check for Friday's No Salt Ice report for Racine County beaches.&nbsp; The pictures under today's ice picture is from a few weeks ago when we me and Will went snowboarding at Grand Geneva, keeping the winter stoke going Will throws a shaka down.
Good late morning, this is Burt with your Racine County ice update recorded on February the 19th 2010 at 11:32 a.m. Winds are light out of the WNW at 6 mph with the outside air temperature at a nice 34 degrees under very sunny skies at Racine County beaches. Still very dangerous ice conditions prevail off of all Racine County beaches and surfing is seriously not advise until all the ice has thawed out at all of Racine County beaches. A beautiful day in store for today with plenty of sunshine and winds will stay light out of the west for today and our outside air temperatures will hang in the mid 30's. This afternoon and going into this evening we will see increasing clouds with a very slight chance of some light snow showers or some flurries and we will see a low around 24 degrees. Winds for tonight will be on the calm side and the sun will set at 5:28 p.m. The sunrise was this morning at 6:43 a.m and the water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan are still at a chilly 36 degrees. Well not much change at all as seen in the last picture that was taken last Monday of the ice situation off of Racine County beaches. Hang in there and lets hope this nice weather keeps coming so we can see a good thaw for the Racine area. It still looks like many of weeks to come before we get back to normal and it safe to surf again off of Racine County beaches. Have a great weekend and check for Monday's No Salt Ice update for Racine County beaches. Thanks for the cool picture from this weeks surf session Rusty Joe Medrow. We scored again with some fun waves up to about the stomach to a few bigger set waves here and there threw&nbsp; the session and ice was not too bad but there were some good ice floes coming threw for time to time.&nbsp; First picture is of me, Jim M and Chris B checking the situation out then another picture of me and Chris in the lineup. &nbsp; &nbsp; <img src="http://images.quickblogcast.com/52694-47195/P1090209.JPG?a=40"><div> </div><img src="http://images.quickblogcast.com/52694-47195/P10902183.JPG?a=70"><div> </div><br>

Good Friday, this is Burt with your ice report for Racine County beaches effective on February the 12th 2010 at 11:52 a.m Winds are light out of the NW at 7 mph with the outside air temperature at a cool 22 degrees with sunny skies with only a few high clouds at Racine County beaches. Very dangerous conditions prevail off of Racine County beaches as far as the ice shelf goes and the ice in the water and surfing is seriously not advise until spring or when all the ice is gone at all of Racine beaches. Today we will see a mix of sun and clouds with light winds out of the NW and our outside air temperatures will push up into the upper 20's. Tonight we will see mostly cloudy skies with our night time low air temperatures pushing down to about 11 degrees and winds will stay light out of the WNW. The sunrise this morning at Racine County beaches was at 6:52 a.m and the sun will set tonight at 5:19 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan are holding at a chilly 36 degrees. Still not much change as you see in the last picture below from this last Tuesday's ice report and unfortunately we still have several more weeks until it will be safe to venture out for a surf at all Racine beaches. Well some of us lake surfers like Milwaukee surfers Adam Kuhnen snowboarder,Rusty Malkemes shooting and Zach Thomas looking in awe have been taking advantage of the recent snow fall and switching it up a little you think. Thanks for keeping it real guys and keep ripping it up in the snow and on the van<div> </div>. Also with most of all surf spots are either way to dangerous to surf or way too much ice in the lineup me, Will and Erich Miller who is from Milwaukee scored some super fun surf with probably the last spot on this side of the lake to surf. Wednesday the 10th of February we saw some fun surf out of the NW, surfers Will Wall Erich Miller and me found some winter time lake stoke in between the snow storms and the ice floes. Thanks for taking some pictures of us Erich after you surfed and good meeting and surfing with&nbsp; you to man it was a super fun session. Have a great weekend and check for Monday the 15th of February's ice report. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <img src="http://images.quickblogcast.com/52694-47195/rustymalkemes.jpg?a=45"><div> </div>&nbsp; &nbsp; <img src="http://images.quickblogcast.com/52694-47195/PICT0107.JPG?a=84"><div> </div><img src="http://images.quickblogcast.com/52694-47195/PICT0103.JPG?a=79"><div> </div><br>

Winds are moderate to strong out of the ENE at 16 mph with gusts to 22 mph and the outside air temperature is at 29 degrees under very cloudy conditions with moderate to heavy snow. I had just drove through the harsh and snowy conditions to get a picture of today's ice situation here in the Racine area and unfortunately the ice shelf is looking really bad then the last picture that was taken last week. Surfing conditions off of any Racine County beaches is still strongly not recommended&nbsp; due to very dangerous ice conditions in Lake Michigan. There is a winter storm warning in effect until Wednesday morning at 6:00a.m and we have already picked up about 5.5 inches of snow as of now. Today we will see a very steady snow with snow coming down on the moderate to heavy side especially near Lake Michigan with some lake effect snow with winds moderate to strong out of the ENE and NE. Today we will see also cloudy skies with our outside air temperatures only pushing up into the upper 20's at Racine County beaches.Tonight look for strong winds out of the north with still cloudy skies and our night time low air temperatures will dip down back into the low 20's. After all said and done with the snow tapering off after midnight we will see snow amounts in the 10 to 14 inch range by Lake Michigan. The sunrise was this morning at 6:56 a.m and the sun will set tonight at Racine County beaches at 5:15 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine beaches on Lake Michigan are at a chilly 36 degrees and are holding steady. Well after these cold ENE and NE winds over the last day or so the ice conditions have took a turn for the worse and it still looks like several more weeks until we get back to normal and all of the Racine beaches are surfable again. Hang in there and take advantage of all this snow and go snowboarding with some excellent snow conditions again. The next ice report will be this next Friday February the 12th so have a great week and stay warm out there. Burton &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br>

Good afternoon, this is Burton with your ice update for Racine County beaches recorded at 1:09 p.m on January the 25th 2010. Winds are out of the southwest at 16 mph with gusts to 24 mph and the outside air temperature is at 33 degrees under mainly cloudy skies with a few peeks of sun. Some good news as far as the ice shelf goes for many of spots off of Racine County beaches with the recent warmer weather all the east winds and waves and rain the ice shelf has dissipated a lot off of Racine County beaches. I am still going to say it is very dangerous and surfing conditions off all of Racine beaches is still not advised until all of the ice is gone at all Racine County beaches. I am still going to do my ice reports twice a week until I think it is totally safe to venture out for a surf and all the ice is gone.&nbsp; Today we will see mainly cloudy skies with a few peeks of sun with our outside air temperatures only pushing up into the low to mid 30's. We will see a chance of some snow showers going into this late afternoon and the winds for today will be out of the WSW in the moderate to strong range. Tonight look for very strong winds out of the west with our night time low air temperatures pushing down into the low 20's. Also for tonight we will still have a good chance for some flurries or some snow showers and skies will stay on the cloudy side at Racine beaches. The sunrise was at 7:12 a.m and the sun will set tonight at 4:55 p.m at Racine County beaches. The water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on lake Michigan are holding at a chilly 36 degrees. Well look for winter temperatures to push back down going into this week with some cold days ahead. The good thing is as you can see in the picture below that things are getting better as far as the ice goes off of Racine beaches. I just hope we do not see those cold east and NE winds come&nbsp; up again with the cold air temperatures to only add to the ice shelf and make it worse again. Have a great rest of the work week and check for Fridays No Salt ice report for Racine County beaches. Some fun times up at El Guapo's&nbsp; cabin this last weekend shooting guns and some good ole ice fishing up on Pelican Lake. I know I missed some waves at some certain spots here on the lakes but sometimes you got to think about doing other things around this time of year and forget about surfing for a while. Look what Alden scored up north, cannot get them all.
