Good middle of the work week, This is Burton with your surf update recorded on February the 22nd 2012 at 11:53 a.m. Winds are out of the WSW at 9 mph and the outside air temperature is at a nice 43 degrees under a mix of clouds and sun at Racine beaches. Waves for today at Racine County beaches are flat with still very poor conditions for surfing on Lake Michigan. Today we will see a mix of clouds and sun and winds will be light to moderate out of the WSW. The outside air temperatures for today will push up into the low to mid 40's at Racine beaches. Tonight look for cloudy skies with a good chance for some snow showers going later into the evening hours. Winds for tonight will be light out of the SSW and the outside air temperatures will drop down into the low 30's at Racine beaches. The sunrise was this morning at 6:37 a.m and the sun will set tonight at 5:30 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine beaches on Lake Michigan are holding at 38 degrees. Still not much in the forecast as far as waves go for the next few days. We will see some winds for Thursday out of the southeast but wave heights will stay in the knee high range and under at Racine County beaches. There will be a better chance for some bigger waves out of the northwest for this next Saturday morning but we will have to see if the forecast holds up. Well with no waves lately me and Will went snowboarding up at Sunburst here in Wisconsin last Sunday. Here is a photo I took on our first trip up on the ski lift. The next surf update will be this next Friday February the 24th.
