Good cloudy Friday, this is Burton with your surf update recorded on February the 17th 2012 at 12:46 p.m. Winds are light out of the SSE at 6 mph and the outside air temperature is at 38 degrees under cloudy skies at Racine beaches. Waves for today are in the ankle high range and under with very poor conditions for surfing on Lake Michigan. Today we will see light winds out of the SSW with cloudy skies and there will be a slight chance for some snow showers with some rain mixed in. The outside air temperatures for today will push up into the upper 30's at Racine beaches. Tonight look for mainly cloudy skies and winds will be moderate out of the WNW. There will still be a slight chance for some snow shower and some rain and the outside air temperatures will drop down into the upper 20's at Racine beaches. The sunrise was this morning at 6:44 a.m and the sun will set tonight at 5:24 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine beaches on Lake Michigan are at 38 degrees. Not much in the forecast for waves for the next couple of days here in the Racine area on Lake Michigan. There is going to be some moderate winds for Saturday out of the north but overall surfing conditions will remain on the poor side with wave heights staying in the thigh high range and under.
