Good late Monday afternoon, This is Burton with your ice report for Racine County beaches effective on January the 30th 2011 at 4:47 p.m. Winds are out of the southwest at 8 mph with gusts to 16 mph and the outside air temperature is at 43 degrees under partly cloudy skies at Racine beaches. Today we saw mostly cloudy skies for most of the day with partly cloudy skies through the second half of the day. Winds were moderate out of the south and SSW for today at Racine beaches and the outside air temperatures did push up into the low to mid 40's. Tonight look for partly cloudy skies and the night time low air temperatures will drop down into the mid 30's at Racine beaches. Winds for tonight will be moderate out of the southwest. The sunrise was this morning at 7:07 a.m and the sun did just set at 5:00 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan are between 36 and 38 degrees. Not to much change for last week with our ice shelf and the ice in the water here in the Racine area. Surfing conditions are still very unsafe and are strongly not recommended at all of Racine beaches. Here is a picture I took from today of the ice situation here at one of our surf spots. There was a lot of ice boulders and floating ice in the lineup. Have a great start to your work week and check for this next Friday's No Salt Ice report. Burton.
