Good snowy Friday, this is Burton with your surf update for Racine County beaches effective on January the 20th 2012 at 1:37 p.m. Winds are out of the NNW at 12 mph and the outside air temperature is at a cold 12 degrees and the windchill is at -2 degrees under cloudy skies with moderate to heavy snow at Racine County beaches. Waves for today are in the ankle high range and under with very poor conditions for surfing at Racine beaches. There is a winter weather advisory in effect for this morning going into this evening with 3 to 6 inches of snow expected. Today we will see cloudy skies with moderate to heavy snow showers at times and winds will be light mainly out of the east. The outside air temperatures for today will struggle to push up into the upper teen's at Racine County beaches. Tonight still look for a chance for some light to moderate snow showers and skies will remain on the cloudy side. Winds for this evening will be light to moderate out of the NNE and look for the night time low air temperatures to drop down into the low to mid teen's. Saturday look for a mix of clouds and sun and winds will be light out of the east. The outside air temperatures for Saturday will push up into the mid 20's at Racine beaches. Saturday night look for increasing winds mainly out of the southeast and skies will be on the cloudy side at Racine beaches. The outside air temperatures for Saturday night will drop down into the  low 20's. Sunday look for cloudy skies and winds will be moderate to strong out of the SSE.The outside air temperatures will push up into the mid to upper 30's on Sunday. Sunday night the low air temperatures will drop down into the low 30's and winds will still be light to moderate out of the south and SSW. Also we will see a chance for some snow showers on Sunday night and skies will be on the cloudy side. The sunrise was this morning at 7:16 a.m and the sun will set this late afternoon at 4:47 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan are between 38 and 40 degrees and are slowly dropping. Not much as far as any waves for the next few day's but Sunday is lining up nicely with winds and waves mainly out of the SSE. Racine County beaches will have waves pushing into the waist to stomach high range with maybe a few bigger waves going into the mid day hours on Sunday. The better and bigger waves will be north of the Port Washington area if your looking to get some more size. Have a great weekend and stay warm out there and take it easy and slow down while driving out on the roads here in The Mid West. Here is a picture that my best friend Will Wall took before we paddled out here in the Racine area this last Tuesday afternoon with some really fun waves to be had. Happy Surfing ALL OVER Great Lakes and Lets Get ALL of The Beaches legal to surf in Chicago Illinois.
