Good cloudy Monday, this is Burton with your Racine County surf update recorded on January the 16th 2012 at 1:45 p.m. Winds are out of the southwest at 8 mph and the outside air temperature is at 42 degrees under very cloudy skies at Racine beaches. Waves for early the morning hours for today were in the thigh to stomach high range with winds and waves out of the south and SSW. Overall surfing conditions for early this morning were on the poor to fair side with a few longboardable waves to be had but it dropped super fast going through the morning hours. Today we will see a slight chance for some light drizzle and winds will be moderate out of the SW.  Skies for today will be on the cloudy side at  Racine beaches and look for the outside air temperatures to push up into the low 40's. Tonight still look for cloudy skies and winds will switch more out of the NNE and will be on the moderate side. Also for tonight still look for a chance of some light snow with some areas of freezing rain and the outside low air temperatures will drop down into the upper 20's. Tuesday look for strong winds out of the NNW and skies will be cloudy and we will see a better chance for some steady snow showers. Also for Wednesday look for the outside air temperatures to push up to about 30 degrees at Racine County beaches. Wednesday night we will still see mostly cloudy skies and winds will be moderate  out of the WNW. The outside air temperatures will drop down into the cold middle to upper single digits on Wednesday night. The sunrise was this morning at 7:18 a.m and the sun will set this late afternoon at 4:43 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine beaches on Lake Michigan are between 38 and 40 degrees. Some waves will be filling into the afternoon going into Tuesday with winds and waves out of the NNW and NW. Some fun surfing conditions will be lining up once again going into Tuesday late afternoon and conditions could be fair to good at a few sheltered spots here in the Racine area. After Tuesdays waves we will see thing calm down for a few day's but then we could see another round of winds and waves out of the NNW and NW for Thursday afternoon. We will have to see how this next Thursday afternoon turns out looking at the forecast for the next few day's as thing can change fast out here on The Great Lakes. Have a great start to your work week and check for this Wednesday's next No Salt Surf update for Racine County beaches. Here is a picture that Will took before we went surfing last Thursday late in the afternoon. A few selective spots had some juice and were firing a long with the blinding snow. Happy Surfing The Great Lakes 2012. Burton
