Good sunny Monday morning, this is Burton with your No Salt ice report recorded for Racine County beaches on January the 18th 2010 at 10:35 a.m. Winds are out of the west at 8 mph with the outside air temperature at 29 degrees under very sunny skies at Racine County beaches. The ice shelf off of Racine beaches is still very dangerous and surfing is strongly not recommended off of any of Racine County beaches until it is safe once again to surf at all of Racine beaches. Today we will see some clouds for this morning but mainly sunny skies and our outside air temperatures for today will only get up into the low 30's and winds will be light out of the west. This late afternoon we will start to see increasing clouds and then for tonight we will see partly cloudy skies with light winds out of the WNW. This evening we will see our air temperatures drop back down into the low 20's and the sun will set at 4:46 tonight at Racine County beaches. The sunrise was this morning at 7:17 a.m and the water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan are at a chilly 36 degrees. Well really not to much change at all for the ice situation off of Racine County beaches with still a very dangerous ice shelf extending all the way out into the lineup. Looking into the middle to late of this week we are going to see winds and waves out of the northeast and east that are going to add to the ice shelf and things could get worse before things start to get better as far as the ice goes. Well I have been keeping super busy with some serious winter sports for this last couple of weeks with some snowboarding and some ice fishing and truly taking advantage with some great winter time activities. Here are a few more pictures from last weeks snowboarding trip with Will and his son. Also a few from ice fishing with Allen and the crew here in Racine and one more picture from Dieter from out west with some epic waves from this winter. Enjoy and have a great week and the next ice update will be this next Friday the 22nd of January.
