Good cloudy Wisconsin late morning, this is Burton with your surf report for Racine County beaches recorded on December the 31st 2009 at 11:43 a.m. Winds are out of the WNW at 13 mph with the outside air temperature at 25 degrees and the wind chill is at a cold 13 degrees under very cloudy skies at Racine County beaches. Waves are flat for today with moderate winds out of the WNW that are not producing any waves at Racine County beaches. Today we will see our high air temperatures only push up into the upper 20's with just a slight chance for some light flurries or some light snow showers. Tonight look for some chilly low air temperatures in the upper single digits and winds will be moderate to strong out of the WNW and skies will stay on the cloudy side. New Years day look for strong winds out of the WNW but winds will be switching more out of the NW in the afternoon and our outside air temps will only push up into the upper teens. Another cloudy day in store for Friday and we will see another cold evening for Friday night with our outside air temperatures pushing down into the middle single digits. Saturday look for partly cloudy skies along with strong winds out of the NW and we will only see our high air temps push into the middle teens at Racine beaches. Saturday night look for our air temperatures to push back down into the upper single digits with still partly cloudy skies and winds will still be moderate to strong out of the NW. Sunday January the 3rd look for a mix of clouds and sun with our outside air temperatures pushing up into the low 20's at Racine beaches and winds will still be moderate to strong out of the NW and NNW. Sunday night we will once again see our air temperatures push back down into the cold  low teens with partly cloudy skies and winds will still be moderate out of the NNW.  Now we are going to see some of the coldest air temperature we have not seen in a while for the next several days with very cold winds out of the NW and NNW that are pushing down out of Canada. The good thing is that going into Friday afternoon all the way into this next week we are going to see some solid waves from these cold NW and NNW winds. Wave heights depending on when those winds want to switch over on Friday are going to start off on the small side for Friday morning. Then going into Friday late in the afternoon and going all the way into Monday we could see wave heights at the standout spots here in the Racine area push into the overhead range with good to excellent conditions for surfing. Pretty much the whole Racine County area over the next couple of days will see good to excellent conditions for surfing with those offshore NW winds and waves with plenty of waves out there even at the sheltered spots. Keep in mind that it is going to be super cold while surfing here in the Racine area for the next several days with the wind chills getting pretty dangerous so if venturing out for a surf please surf with someone and know your limits. The water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches are at 40 degrees on Lake Michigan and will be dropping with these colder temperature so wear the right wetsuit and gear to make the best of your surf session. The sunrise today was at 7:21 and the sun will set for the last day in 2009 at 4:27 p.m this evening at Racine County beaches. Well some solid winds and waves for the first part of 2010 out of the NW and NNW so get out an catch a few waves. Its been another awesome year surfing out here on The Great Lakes and look forward to another solid year of surfing and helping out my fellow Lakers in my forecasting for Lake Michigan and the Racine area. Have a very safe and Happy New Year and the next No Salt Surfcast will resume on Monday January the 4th. Burton
