Good chilly Wisconsin morning, this is Burton with your surf update for Racine County beaches effective at 9:17 a.m on December the 29th 2009. Winds are light out of the west at 6 mph with the outside air temperature at a chilly 10 degrees with the wind chill at 0 degrees under mainly sunny skies with a few clouds over Lake Michigan. Waves for this morning are leftover from yesterdays winds out of the NNW and NW and wave heights at the top standout spots are in the waist to stomach high range. There are a few bigger set waves for early this morning but waves will be fading going into the middle of the day and into this afternoon. Surfing conditions at the top standout spots are in the poor to fair range with a few corners to be had out there for this morning with like I said the bigger waves at the top standout spots. A very sunny day in store  with our high air temperatures only pushing up into the low 20's and winds will stay on the light side out of the west.  Tonight look for partly cloudy skies early with increasing clouds going into the late night hours and we will see moderate winds out of the SSW with a low around 17 degrees at Racine beaches. The sunrise was this morning at 7:21 a.m and the sun will set tonight at 4:26 p.m at Racine County beaches. The water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan are at a chilly 40 degrees and are slowly dropping. Well after this mornings waves it is looking pretty small for the next day or so with maybe some small waves up to the knee to thigh high for Wednesday morning with winds and waves out of the SSW. Then it is looking pretty solid as far as waves go from the first of January into the next couple of days after that with winds and waves out of the NNW and NW. Keep checking in for new updates and stay warm out there. A few more from last weekends up north adventure.
