This is Burton with your surf report for Racine County beaches effective at 11:59 a.m on Monday June the 29th 2009. WNW winds at  14 mph with gusts to 23 mph with the outside air temperature at 72 degrees under partly cloudy skies at Racine beaches. Waves are flat for this morning and going in to the noon hour with mainly strong winds out of the WNW. Winds will be switching though more out of the northwest after 2:00 p.m this afternoon with building waves going in to this late afternoon and into the evening. For this late afternoon and going to the evening it will take a little while for the waves to start building and your best bet would be the Racine County standout spots. By the evening time before the sun sets waves will build up to the thigh to waist high range with a stomach high set wave before things start to get dark. Surfing conditions here in the Racine area at the standout spots will be in the fair to good range with some fun and clean offshore conditions. Today we will see a mix of sun and clouds with moderate to strong winds mainly out of the WNW but like I said winds will be switching more out of the NW going in to this afternoon. We will see our high air temp's push in to the low 70's for today with a slight chance for a rain shower or two. Tonight look for a low air temperature in the low 50's with winds moderate out of the NW with still a slight chance of some rain showers. The sunrise was this morning at 5:16 a.m this morning and the sun will set tonight at 8:33 p.m. Water surface temps off of Racine beaches are at 66 degrees. Well little waves going in to this evening and even looking better going in to Tuesday with more waves out of the NW. Get out and go surf because after Tuesday and Wednesday we will see things start to calm down for a while as far as waves go for the Racine area.
