Good really hot Wednesday morning, this is Burt with your surf update recorded at 11:05 a.m on June the 24th 2009. Winds are calm with the outside air temperature at a hot 89 degrees under very sunny skies with only a few high clouds in the area. A heat advisory is in effect until 7:00 p.m this evening with very hot temperatures in store for today. Waves are flat, flat, flat for today with just light winds mainly out of the ESE. Today we will see our high air temp's push up in to the upper 80's at Racine beaches with a few passing clouds and a afternoon thunderstorm is possible. A classic summer day today with the best place to be at would be Racine beaches with a cool dip in Lake Michigan to cool you off. Tonight look for light winds out of the west with a better chance for some thunderstorms and some moderate rain showers. 70 degrees will be our warm low air temperature for tonight and the sun will set at 8:34 p.m. The sunrise this morning was at 5:14 a.m and the water surface temperatures off of Racine beaches is rising steadily with temp's at 62 degrees. Still the same old story for the next several days as far as any ridable waves go for the Racine area with our summer doldrums really kicking in. Well lets hope for some fun summer surf in the near future and keep checking back for new updates. Have a good Wednesday and stay cool out there. Burton
