Good Friday morning, this is Burt with your 10:52 a.m surf report for Racine County beaches effective on March the 27th 2009. North winds at 7 mph with the outside air temperature at a cool 33 degrees under cloudy Wisconsin skies. Waves are on the flat side for today at Racine beaches with mainly light to moderate NNW winds. Today we will see our high air temperatures push up into the upper 30's with mainly cloudy conditions. Tonight we will see a low around 29 degrees with increasing winds out of the northeast and partly cloudy skies. The sunrise this morning was at 6:41 a.m and the sun will set tonight at 7:11 p.m. The water surface temperature's off of Racine beaches is at a cold 38 degrees so when venturing out for a surf please wear the right wetsuit and gear. A strong spring storm is gathering strength over the plain states and is going to move through are area starting on Saturday with increasing winds starting tonight out of the northeast that will bring us waves on Saturday. Saturday morning will start off on the small side but the waves will build going into the middle of the day on Saturday with the biggest waves filling into the late afternoon hours. Winds and waves will be mainly out of the NE for Saturday so a lot of places will be blown out with those east winds, your best bet would be a good sheltered spot for Saturday afternoon here in the Racine area. Saturday evening we will see winds switch more out of the north with very strong winds along with a good chance of some snow with some accumulation. Sunday we will see strong winds from the NNW with waves heights at the standout spots here in Racine in the well overhead range. Some good waves coming in for this weekend so check for an early surf report for both Saturday and Sunday morning. Have a great Friday and check for Saturdays surfcast.
