Good rainy Wednesday morning, this is Burton with your ice report effective on February the 11th 2009 at 11:35 a.m. North winds at 17 mph with the outside air temperature at 39 degrees under cloudy skies with light rain. Windy and rainy conditions will be the deal for today and we will see a high air temperature for today right around 42 degrees with mainly moderate to strong winds out of the north and NNE. Tonight look for a low air temp right at 27 degrees with a mix of some rain and some snow showers, winds will be in the moderate to strong range out of the WNW for Racine County beaches. As far as the ice goes for Racine County beaches we have had a lot of melting of the ice shelf off of Racine beaches but still it is mostly dangerous in most spots and surfing in Lake Michigan is not advised. Not much ice in the water too for most of Racine beaches so it looks like we could be back in the water and safely within a few more weeks if it does not get back as cold as it was. The sunrise this morning was at 6:53 a.m and the sun will set tonight at 5:18 p.m. Looking a lot better then most of the past weeks with finally some warmer weather and a good thawing out in most areas here in Racine, so hopefully I will be back to my daily reports soon. Have a great rest of the week and check for next Wednesdays ice update.
