Good afternoon, this is Burton with your Racine County ice update recorded at 1:42 p.m February the 18th 2008. Mostly cloudy skies right now with the outside air temperature at 15 degrees and the wind chill at -1,the winds are west at 17 mph with gusts to 24. Cold week starting off once again with another blast of cold air dropping out of Canada with Tuesdays highs in the low teens with windy conditions making very cold wind chills again. West winds will be moderate to strong for the next couple of days with wind chills pushing down in the -15 degrees range and maybe even colder going into Tuesday night. Tonights lows will be in the low single digits with not much change in our temps for the next several days, still cannot see a good thaw out for the near future. Still very dangerous out there on the lake but our ice shelf has been cut down a little and not looking as bad as the recent weeks as you can see in the pictures, but like I said a lot of ice chunks and still very dangerous. Awesome snowboarding this last weekend up at Cascade Mountain and just great times ripping the mountain with Will snow surf style. Check for Fridays ice update and have a great week.
