Good Friday afternoon, Burton here with your 2:34 ice update recorded on February the 8th 2008. SSW winds at 6 mph with the outside air temperature at 34 degrees under cloudy Wisconsin skies, tonights low air temperature will be right around 25 degrees. Well after all this snow for this week look for a inch or more through this evening tapering off to flurries after midnight, a blowing snow advisory has now been issued for Saturday with very gusty winds up to 40 mph . Light out moderate winds out of the SSW for this evening and then very strong WSW winds in store for Saturday with our high air temps right into the low 30's for Saturday. After that look for another arctic blast of some very cold air coming out of Canada for Sunday with temps for this next week starting off on the cold side. With our air temperature staying on the cold side for the next week and as far as my surfcast can see it is not helping our ice shelf and the ice chunks in the line up. The ice shelf now extends all the way out into the line up and we are going to need several days way above 32 degrees to start to thaw things out. We are really starting to look like the other side of the lake with our ice shelf, all we can do is wait and hope for that spring thaw. Thanks for checking out my No Salt Surf ice update and have a great weekend. Burton
