This is Burton with your 12:20 p.m surf update for Racine County beaches effective on January the 20th 2008. West winds at 14 with gusts to 21 and the air temperature at a cold 5 degrees under sunny skies, the wind chill is -14 degrees. Waves once again very flat for today for Racine beaches with cold conditions still hanging around with todays high air temps barley pushing in the upper single digits with mostly clear and sunny skies. The lake is starting its ice shelf and will be getting worse as the days go on and our air temps hang under the freezing mark for several more days so use caution if you venture out to surf for this next week. Light snow coming in for our area for Monday with 1 to 2 inches of accumulation is expected with this next storm system but our air temps will be a lot warmer with highs for Monday in the low to mid 20's. Still for today we will see moderate winds out of the west with still chilly conditions so dress accordingly.Next chance for waves looks like some small stuff out of the NW for Tuesday afternoon and then a better shot of some stronger wind and waves from north for Thursday but like I said be careful of the ice build up and ice in the line up. Check for this evenings surf update and Go Packers Go.
