This is Burt with your 11:30 a.m surf update for Racine County beaches effective for January the 18th 2008. Very cold conditions for this morning with even colder arctic air moving in through the weekend, winds right now are out of the southwest at 10 mph and the outside air temp at 20 degrees.  The wind chill right now is at 9 degrees with some high clouds in the area and more clouds filling in for the afternoon hours with a shot of some light snow or a few flurries. A wind chill advisory is in effect from midnight this evening going into Sunday with some very cold air pushing down from Canada that will have are air temperature for Saturday in the single digits for our highs and the wind chill will be -15 or even colder. As it looks for our waves for the next couple of days it looks to be calming down with way too much WSW and WNW winds that will not produce any waves for Racine beaches and the wind chill will be very dangerous for surfing.  So flat conditions will prevail until next Tuesday or so but watch out for some ice build up and floating ice in the water with these very cold conditions making our surf spots dangerous into next week. Check for this evenings No Salt Surf update and stay warm.
