Good windy and chilly Friday afternoon, This is Burton with your surf update recorded at 3:04 p.m on May the 4th 2012. Winds are out of the north at 18 mph with gusts to 30 mph and the outside air temperature is at 48 degrees under cloudy skies at Racine beaches. Wave heights as of now are in the knee to thigh high range with a few bigger waves at the standout spots here in the Racine County area. Overall I am going to say there are some small waves to be had if you surf on your longboard this late afternoon but surfing conditions will still be on the poor side due to the smaller surf. Today we will see cloudy skies with moderate to strong winds mainly out of the north. The outside air temperatures will struggle to push up into the upper 40's at Racine beaches. Tonight look for moderate winds out of the northeast and cloudy skies. The outside air temperatures will drop down into the mid to upper 40's at Racine beaches for tonight. The sunrise was this morning at 5:38 a.m and the sun will set tonight at Racine County beaches at 7:53 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches are between 46 and 48 degrees and are slowly rising. After today's small waves it looks like we will see more winds and little waves for Saturday out of the east and ENE. Overall it still looks like surfing conditions here in the Racine area will be on the poor side due to the onshore east winds and the wave heights staying in the thigh high range and under. Sunday is also looking like we will see waves out of the east and ESE but wave heights once again will struggle to push up into the thigh high range and surfing conditions will be on the poor side. Have a great weekend and check for this next Monday's surf update. After another pretty good week of fishing here in Racine Wisconsin here is another photo of my fellow fishing friend Jeff holding up his prize Coho Salmon. |
