NO SALT SURFCAST

WAVES TODAY?

Wednesday No Salt Ice Report For Racine County Beaches!
Welcome to the first No Salt Ice report of the 2012 Winter surf season here in Racine Wisconsin for Lake Michigan. Winds are out of the SSE at 8 mph with the outside air temperature at 34 degrees under very cloudy skies at Racine beaches. Well we are back to that time of year once again with ice in the water and a good ice shelf starting to form here in Racine County at a lot of our surf spots. As of now until all the ice is gone and there is no more ice shelf I will be doing my ice reports every Monday's and Friday's until it is safe to surf at all of Racine County beaches again. Today we will see mainly cloudy skies with a slight chace for some light snow showers. Winds for today will be light out of the SSE and the outside air temperatures will only push up to about 34 degrees at Racine beaches. Tonight look for light winds out of the south and skies will remain on the cloudy side at Racine beaches. The night time low air temperatures for tonight will drop down into the upper 20's at Racine beaches. The sunrise was this morning at 7:11 a.m and the sun will set this late afternoon at 4:54 at Racine County beaches. The water temperatures off of Racine beaches on Lake Michigan are at a cold 38 degrees and are slowly dropping. Well as you can see in the picture below it is not safe to surf at one of my favorite surf spots here in Racine due to the ice shelf and the ice in the water. Also here is a water picture Will took of me when we surfed up in Door County Wisconsin this last Sunday with winds and waves out of the Se and SSE. The next No Salt Ice Report will be this next Monday the 30th of January. Have a great rest of your work week. Burton

Tonight the outside air temperatures will drop down into the low teen's at Racine beaches and winds will be moderate to strong out of the SW. Also for tonight we will see increasing clouds with a slight chance for some light snow flurries.
