Good sunny Wednesday morning, this is Burton with your surf update recorded on September the 8th 2010 at 8:48 a.m for Racine County beaches. The winds are light out of the WNW at 7 mph with the outside air temperature at a cool 54 degrees under mainly sunny skies with only a few passing clouds. Waves for this morning and for today are in the knee high range and under with very poor conditions for surfing off all Racine County beaches. Today we will see plenty of sun on tap with only a few passing clouds from time to time and our outside air temperatures will only push up into the upper 60's at Racine beaches. Winds for today will be only light and moderate out of the WNW and then for tonight look for light winds out of the NW. Tonight skies will be mainly clear with once again just a few passing clouds and our night time low air temperatures will drop down into the low 50's at Racine beaches. The sunrise was at 6:23 a.m and the sun will set tonight at Racine County beaches at 7:13 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine beaches on Lake Michigan are between 56 and 58 degrees. Well not much in store for today as far as waves go even with the south end buoy reading 5.9 feet there is just way too much west in it from yesterday's strong WSW and west winds for the Racine area to have waves. The next best chance for us to see some rideable waves would be for this next Saturday with winds and waves out of the SSE, but still going to be on the smaller side for surf. Have a great day and check for Thursday's No Salt Surf update for Racine County beaches. Here is another picture from last Saturday up at The Annual Dairyland Classic in Sheboygan Wisconsin. First place paddle contest winner and Milwaukee freshwater surfers Blake and his Dad David holding up their trophies along with everyone else that put a awesome effort in the paddling contest, good job guys.

Tonight look for mostly cloudy skies at Racine County beaches with a low around 62 degrees and there will be a chance for a thunderstorm along with some light to moderate rain showers. Winds for tonight will be moderate out of the south and the sun will set at 7:19 p.m. The sunrise was this morning at 6:20 a.m and the water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan are between 58 to 62 degrees. Well some more waves on tap for Monday on Labor day for the Racine area with winds and waves out of the south. But if you want to get the better waves you should travel a little more north of the Milwaukee to get the bigger and better waves for Monday. Wave heights for Monday will push up into the thigh to waist high range for the Racine are and Tuesday we could also see some waves out of the SW for the early a.m hours. Our kick off to our surf season is finally here so see you all in the water finally with some good winds and waves starting to get our lake going. Had a killer time on Saturday at the 21st Annual Dairyland Surf Classic up in Sheboygan Wisconsin. I am glad that that dog I saved from the other dog's jaws is still alive today and I got a little beat up but it was well worth it and thanks again Steve from Chicago for patching me. Good Friday morning, this is Burton with your surf report for Lake Michigan here in Racine County recorded on September the 3rd 2010 at 9:17 a.m. Winds are moderate to strong out of the west at 13 mph with gusts to 21 mph with the outside air temperature at a cool 62 degrees under very cloudy skies at Racine beaches. Waves are flat for today with mainly straight west winds that are keeping our surf on the flat side. Today we will see mainly cloudy skies with a few peeks of sun and our outside air temperatures will only push up into the mid to upper 60's at Racine beaches. Winds will be moderate to strong out of the west and we will see a slight chance for a afternoon rain shower. Tonight still look for windy conditions with winds out of the WNW staying still on the moderate to strong side, skies will be partly cloudy but will be clearing out and we will see a low around 51 degrees. Saturday we will still see windy conditions with winds out of the NW and WNW and skies will be mainly sunny with only a few passing clouds. Saturday's air temperatures will only push up into the mid to upper 60's at Racine County beaches with a lot cooler conditions in store. Saturday night look for our night time low air temperatures to drop into the upper 40's and winds will be light to moderate out of the west and skies will be party cloudy. The sunrise was at 6:17 a.m and the sun will set tonight at Racine County beaches at 7:22 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan are between a cold 51 and 54 degrees and even going to get colder due to the strong west winds. Well sorry for the delay in today's surf report but this one is kind of hard to predict due to a lot of west in the winds going into Saturday. The standout spots here in the Racine County area will see some good surfing conditions with the the offshore NW and WNW wind conditions but waves will be on the inconsistent side due to a lot of west in the winds. Wave heights for the standouts spots as of now will push up into the stomach to chest high range on the set waves for the morning hours and surfing conditions will be fair to good. Now as far as the Sheboygan Dairyland surf conditions going into Saturday morning we will see some small waves mainly at the standout spots up to the thigh to waist high range. And as it looks like as of now waves too up in Sheboygan will be dropping into the noon hour so your best bet would be is to get on it early for the morning hours. After Saturday's waves we could see some small waves for the Racine area for Monday morning Labor Day and Tuesday morning with winds and waves out of the SSW and SW. Well at least we will see some small waves for the morning hours for the Dairyland and always it could be a little bit bigger. See you all there on Saturday and have a great Labor Day holiday weekend and be safe out there surfing and driving. Next surf update will be on Sunday morning. Here is a picture of my father in law on his 73rd birthday yesterday Thursday September the 2nd 2010 and another picture from last weekends surf trip up in the U.P of Michigan.

Good Thursday mid morning, this is Burton with your surf report for Racine County beaches recorded on September the 2nd 2010. Winds are out of the SSW at 8 mph with the outside air temperature at a nice 75 degrees under very cloudy skies at Racine beaches. Waves for today and for this morning will stay in the knee high range and under with still very poor conditions for surfing off of Racine County beaches. Today we will see mainly cloudy skies with a few rain showers for this morning and then a better chance for some thunderstorms and some moderate to heavy rain going into this afternoon. Winds for today will stay light and moderate out of the south and we will see our outside air temperatures for today push up into the mid to upper 70's at Racine beaches. Tonight look for some thunderstorms along with some moderate to heavy rain showers and skies will be on the cloudy side. Also for tonight look for moderate winds out of the WSW and our low air temperatures for tonight will drop down into the upper 50's at Racine beaches. The sunrise was this morning at 6:17 a.m and the sun will set tonight at Racine beaches at 7:24 p.m. The water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan are between a chill 52 and 56 degrees. Well I am still going to say we will see waves on Saturday with winds and waves out of the NW. It does look like it will have a lot of west in the winds but it will have some north in it too, just might have to wait for those set waves and it could be a little inconsistent at times. Have a great Thursday and check for Friday's No Salt Surfcast for this weekends Dairyland surf forecast. Another picture of Rusty Malkemes driving down the line up in the U.P on Saturday the 28th of August on a good solid righthander. Good Wednesday mid day, winds are out of the WSW at 7 mph with the outside air temperature at 76 degrees under cloudy skies at Racine County beaches. Waves for this morning and for today are in the knee high range and under with very poor conditions for surfing off of Racine County beaches. Today we will see light winds out of the SSW with mostly to partly cloudy skies and our outside air temperatures will push up into the mid to upper 70's. Also for today we will see just a slight chance for a thunderstorm with some light to moderate rain showers. Tonight look for partly cloudy skies with once again a slight chance for a thunderstorm and some moderate rain showers and our night time low air temperatures will drop down into the upper 60's. Winds for tonight will be light and variable and the sun will set at Racine beaches at 7:26 p.m. The sunrise was this morning at 6:16 a.m and the water surface temperatures off of Racine County beaches on Lake Michigan have really cooled off and are between 52 and 56 degrees, back to booties and gloves. Well some super solid waves in the forecast for this next Saturday and even going into Sunday morning with some strong and cold winds out of the NW. Thursday and Friday will be on the flat side and Friday look for strong west winds that are going to even make the water surface temperatures colder. As of now I am still going to hold out as far as the wave heights go for the Racine County area but it could be well overhead at the standout spots here in the Racine area. There is going to be waves for sure on Saturday for The 21st Annual Dairyland Surf Classic finally, so wax up them boards and get ready to surf. Have a great rest of you Wednesday and check for Thursday's Racine Lake Michigan surf update. Thanks again for the awesome pictures Ryan Bigelow, here is one from last Saturday August the 28th 2010 up in the U.P of Michigan. Here is 14 year old freshwater surfer from Milwaukee Blake Meisinger on a good lefthander dialing in his new longboard. Keep ripping Blake and keep up the killer freshwater stoke. Burton

Wave heights for this afternoon will push up into the knee to the thigh range with a few plus size waves coming every once in a while. Wednesday morning we could see some leftover waves out of the south but if you want to get the best waves you got to be on it very early in the morning. The next day it looks like we could get a round of some better winds and waves does now look like this next Saturday morning with some good waves out of the NW. We will still have to see how big it will get when we get a little closer to Saturday due to a lot of west in the winds, so keep checking in for new surf update Have a great Tuesday and check for Wednesday mornings surf report. As of now Saturdays waves look like it is going to have a lot of west in the winds and we will also see how it pans out going through the work week. Have a great Monday and check for Tuesday's surf report. Thanks so much Ryan Bigelow for the awesome pictures from this last Saturday while surfing up in the beautiful U.P of Michigan. Now here is were things could get a lot better, this next Friday and into Saturday morning we could see a lot stronger winds and waves out of the NNW and NW. Friday is looking the strongest for the Racine area but Saturday morning we still could see some leftover waves out of the NNW and NW. Yep, this means we could see some waves finally for this years Annual Dairyland Surf Classic on Saturday morning with some waves out of the NNW and NW. As always keep in mind that this could change for the better or for the worse. So lets just hope this forecast holds up so we can finally get to surf for once at The Dairyland this year.
